OSI Awards
The OSI Award, the highest Award of the OSI, will be conferred to individuals having outstanding contributions to Optics research and/or education.
The award will be conferred once in every two years.
The awardee should necessarily be
i) an Indian or of Indian origin
ii) member of the OSI and
iii) associated in some way or other, with optics teaching/research in India.
An OSI Award Committee constituting of the President and Secretary of the OSI (ex-officio members) and two senior members of the OSI (to be nominated by the EC) will formed for the purpose of selection of the awardee.
OSI Best Thesis AwardOSI Best Thesis Award
O Two page write-up of the thesis work, list of publications and endorsement by the Ph.D. Supervisor for nomination to the Best Thesis Award should be submitted by the student to the Convenor of the OSI Annual Symposium.
§ Thesis Presentations in Annual OSI symposia will be restricted to students who have currently submitted their Ph.D. Thesis
§ A Committee will adjudge the work and a maximum of three best theses will be awarded a Certificate and a cash award of Rs.10000/- each.
OSI Student Presentation Awards
These awards are reserved for best students’ presentations, oral and poster, during annual OSI conferences and are in the form of cash prize and certificates.
