The Optical Society of India is currently accepting nominations from members for the following awards :
Optical Society of India (OSI) Award
It is the highest award of the society presented to a person with overall distinction in optics . Candidates should be members of the OSI for at least three consecutive years including the year of the award, should have a membership for at least ten years in total, and should have contributed towards the development of optics in India.
Harbans Singh Memorial (HSM) Award
This award, instituted to recognize young and promising scientists/ technologists in the field of optics and optoelectronics, is restricted to authors of articles published in Journal of Optics. Age of the author should be 30 years or below as on 31st December of the year of publication. In the case of publications authored jointly, one of the authors satisfying the above age restriction may apply. Nominations for both the awards should contain biodata of the candidates (alongwith a proof of age certificate for the HSM Award).
